It has been quite a week here at DuJardin School. Students have been working on coding in during their library time. It has been a very interactive experience not only for the students but for me as well. I grew up in an era when the telephone was still attached to the wall, where you actually had to get up and turn your television set on if you wanted to watch it, when your car broke down...your dad could actually fix it with a little help from his friends. Today's children are growing up in an age when they can turn their devices on and watch a whole season of a show in one sitting. Their telephones aren't attached to the wall but they can call from the watch attached to their wrist. What? Thanks to coding all things are possible when it comes to technology. I can't even imagine what these students will experience as they grow into adulthood and go out into the working world. It behooves us as educators and parents to expose us to new and unfamiliar technologies. Coding is a great place to start with your children. Code with the ones you love and explore the possibilities! Here's the link to my coding page- https://www.symbaloo.com/mix/coding134 Check out what the kids put together through coding :) |
