During library time we created a book trailer with wevideo, and it was a fun learning experience because we found out many things about technology. We also think it's cool that the younger Dujardin students can watch our video, and other videos made by our classmates. We hope other kids get to have the same experience as we had! Technology is always coming up with new apps and fun things for kids and adults to do. Mrs. Eggert introduced me to the world of Memes. What is a meme? It’s a picture with a cute caption attached to it. The third graders at DuJardin have been creating memes for the library and me. They are finding pictures and putting cute phrases to the picture to show their love for reading, books and Schmuldtarella :) What a fun way to get your point across using humor, photos, and very few words-- all using Technology! Check out our memes on the IMC bulletin boards! Here are few: Today, our Kindys really proved that the sky is the limit! All in one lesson, they
Let's hear from our very own about the AWESOME learning experience! Just a quick little shoutout to our Tech Department who installed Chromecasts in all of our classrooms over the summer! With the great learning taking place in District 13 rooms, the goal was to provide a seamless way for teachers to share their Chromebook screen via the projector for students to see. Don't get me wrong, teacher casting has been awesome, but the real goose bump instigator is the student ability to cast their screens to share with the class.
I witnessed this in action in a 5th grade classroom this morning that was truly inspiring. As the class was having a powerful discussion, students casted their screens, one after another to provide evidence of research. The entire learning experience was enriched by the flawless student casting and the capacity for students to share their thinking with the class. Efficiency and effectiveness at their best! |
