Schools often adopt a theme for the building. This theme serves as the anchor as the year continues. In any job, it is easy to get wrapped up in the negativity that naturally surfaces. In the world of education, teachers do so much for students and there's lots of GOOD floating around. However, sometimes too often, we find ourselves forgetting the good: #human. After listening to the radio segment on 103.5 Kiss FM on my morning drive, it was clear that "Tell Me Something Good" had potential to be a powerful theme this year.
At DuJardin School every single meeting, morning announcement, classroom day, etc. will begin with "Tell Me Something Good" time. Staff and students will share about the great things happening... both personally and/or professionally. Administrators are writing "Tell Me Something Good" slips and leaving them on teachers' desks. Teachers are beginning each day with the students sharing about something good. This can only help foster strong relationships that creates an environment for meaningful learning. With that being said, this year, all of the podcasts and blog posts this year will spark from the theme of Tell Me Something Good! Rockstar students, staff members and I will be sharing celebrations! Let's spread positivity- you in?
