Today's "Tell Me Something Good Tuesday" is not a plug, it's just an honest share of some special and powerful learning opportunities. Exploring By The Seat of Your Pants is an incredible organization that generates authentic experiences for students all over the world. As noted on their website, "We knock down classroom walls and take students anywhere in the world, never having to leave their desks." "Students won't remember every math or language lesson, but they will remember the time they were hanging out in a penguin colony in Antarctica or chatting with someone who just rowed across an ocean." At DuJardin, we've connected our kids with science experts across the world. We participated in Women in Science Week, watched live baby sharks in human hands, and connected with other classes with a similar desire to learn!
This week, our first graders are reading Stellaluna- the classic children's book. While they can watch videos and research about these creatures, connecting with a bat conservationist really made the content come alive (literally and figuratively)! Everything was set up by EBTSOYP! THANK YOU, Exploring By the Seat of Your Pants, for transforming learning for all :) If you haven't signed up for their newsletter or tried one of their events, it's worth checking out!
