With going 1:1 this year and a big focus on 21st Century Teaching and Learning, we weren't exactly sure what to expect. We have less than a month left of school and the staff and students continue to blow us away. Mrs. Volkman (a Kindergarten teacher at one of the elementary schools) and Mr. Volkman (her husband and 6th grade teacher at the middle school) decided to create an unbelievable learning experience for their students. The 6th graders are to teach the Kindergarteners all about the chicks they are studying in class. The middle school students produced incredible presentations to share with the Kindergartners. They were personalized with text, images, and videos. The Kindergartners then watched the videos and are keeping record of their learning in a log. Eventually, they will get to see the baby chicks after they hatch-- AND they'll know about how they got there... kudos to their buddies across town at Westfield. Check out Student Video Blog by these adorable Kindergarteners about the experience!
